This Thanksgiving, I need your help healing ancestral and cultural harms

This November, I have a special invitation for you and your loved ones.

We’ve been making great strides in editing my documentary, In the Wake of Our Ancestors, which follows me and my aging father on a cross-country reckoning with our 400-year history of settler-colonizer ancestry.

We’re ready to start the next scene-building stage of editing, but our funds are running out.

To keep us going, will you host a home viewing party with your friends, family, and beloved community?

We’re unveiling a powerful new sneak preview just for in-person watch parties the week of Thanksgiving, including a live Zoom Q&A with the director (that’s me!).

Here’s how it works:
Message me (inthewakeofourancestors @ gmail) with your preferred date and time. (November 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, or 29, starting anytime between noon and 8pm PDT).

I’l confirm your time and send you the private Vimeo link for the film preview and a Zoom link for a live group Q&A.

Invite your guests, whether you want to add this to your existing plans or create another meaningful gathering to the week. Intimate groups and large parties welcome!

The hour will include the film preview, a brief bio break and opportunity to share impressions on a digital survey, and a live Zoom conversation, concluding with ways to make tax-deductible, employer-matched, or direct donations.

Any questions? Just ask, I’m excited to hear from you!

Watch the trailer and learn more about In the Wake of Our Ancestors.

Whether you’re sharing a feast for Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving, or commemorating the National Day of Mourning, we truly can’t wait to share this film and conversation with you and your loved ones.

Much love to you and your people,
Angela, Director of “In the Wake of Our Ancestors”
